Armageddon: Part Four of the Ayton Cycle
Last Name: Lynch
First and Other Names: James
Summary:
Through the eyes and experiences of three generations of one family, the gradual expansion of the drug market in a small town in the English Midlands is seen as being stimulated by mounting demand from the Public for recreational drugs on the one hand and the endeavours of the drug barons to sell ever more of their drugs on the other.
The ongoing and intensifying infiltration into the normal organs of criminal justice, business, social and recreational activities in the small town of Ayton on the Wold and its immediate region is corrupting Public life and probity and earning millions of pounds in profits for the criminal mafia gangs.
The Forces of Law and Order have an endless struggle against the spread and proliferation of international and regional drug syndicates active in the town and its region, whose income far exceeds the funds available for crime fighting by the Forces of Law and Order. ... The accompanying financially-strengthened criminal structures are infiltrating more and more into legitimate life and business in the town, including the arms of the criminal justice system, and little by little they are corrupting them. The basic question posed is whether the current movement to an ever more dystopian society can be challenged effectively and the criminals involved overcome or whether the movement to a drug-corrupted society will be progressively deepened.
