This website is intended solely for the use of members of the 1818 Society® and serves as one of the key channels for the Society’s Board and the Society’s committees, clubs and volunteer groups to communicate with members about the governance, events and activities of the 1818 Society®. The website may be used by members only as a means to foster social, educational, recreational and similar interactions among 1818 Society® members. All of the content on this website is intended for the personal, non-commercial use of our members. The website may not be used for any kind of solicitation of members and, to maintain our nonprofit status, it also may not be used for commercial purposes, or for personal gain. In addition, the website may not be used for political, religious, ideological, or personal advocacy purposes.
Data Privacy
The Directory of WBG Alumni® (“Directory”) is a compilation of the personal contact information of members who have agreed to share that information with other 1818 Society®members. It is incumbent upon members that they respect the privacy of their colleagues and treat this information with extreme care to prevent any misuse of personal data. Members accessing the Directory are expected to respect data privacy and not send emails to or otherwise communicate with people whom they do not know personally.
The 1818 Society® reserves the right to immediately suspend the login credentials of any member if the 1818 Society® has reasonable grounds to believe that such member has violated data privacy or used the website for other than authorized purposes.
Content disclaimer
The information presented on the website is based on contributions from 1818 Society® volunteers. It is not a substitute for seeking professional advice on specialized matters when making any personal decisions.
Findings, interpretations, and conclusions that are contributed by members in the posts on the member-driven pages of the website, including blog posts, the community hub, obituaries or other similar web pages, are the views of the author and do not necessarily reflect the view of the 1818 Society® or any member of its Board of Directors.
Member Posts and Comments Policy
All posts are reviewed by an Administrator to ensure that they meet posting guidelines. Users of web posts agree to use the comments option to send messages and materials that are proper and related to the particular post. The 1818 Society® reserves the right to remove any post or comments on posts we determine to be, at our sole discretion, unacceptable. This includes personal attacks, profanity, or posts that do not meet our posting guidelines. The 1818 Society® also reserves the right to make necessary edits to grammar and spelling. Any information received will be considered not to be confidential. Users agree that all posts and comments will be publicly accessible to all members.
Members agree to not post materials protected by intellectual property laws.
